Free and Whole Foods

I made a trip to Whole Foods today as part of the Freebie Project and let’s just say I didn’t leave hungry. They run a pretty generous ship over in publicly-traded, socially-conscious land.

They had more chip’n dip set-ups—3—than some stores have total sample stations. Peach or roasted garlic salsa, yellow corn or blue—you have to love that kind of selection.

By far the oddest sample item were oyster crackers. Not quite sure I see the point of having the classic soup accessory as an in-store freebie. Are there really people out there who don’t know what an oyster cracker tastes like? And with good ol' generic flavor, is there really one brand that tastes better than another?

Now jalapeno pistachios, a welcoming nibble found right near the entrance, are a different story.
